Our Bucks
We have made several changes in our breeding program this year 2009. These are
the herds we have handled in the past 9 years:
- Registered Saanan doe herd. These were all bred to Trooper
- Saanubian doe herd, these were bred to a 50% Boer 50% Saanubian buck with
tremendous leg, length and bone.
- 25% doe herd. These Does produced our 80# averages at 4.5 months raising
triplets and twins. They are bred to 100% Boer bucks.
- 4. 25% herd bred to a maternal sire Boer Buck, Arnold
- 3/8ths 5/8ths Boer does. This is the “Moneymaker” great depth and substance,
with milking ability.
- Boer Nubian herd
- Spanish/Boer herd. These two herds were being tested for meatiness and
weaning weights, hot rail weights.
WE have a strong enough base to have sold herd #1 and Trooper. We have also sold all
the Nubian/Boer and Spanish/Boer does, as they did not milk heavy enough to get any kids
to market weight (75#) at 4.5 months or less. They are now in a brush goat herd.
Thank you for all the interest in this breeding program. As we continue to strive to
produce milk fat kids at 4.5 months of age and younger, we will keep you up to date on
the failures as well as successes.
Remember when starting your own breeding program, it costs just as much to feed a non-producing
goat as a maximum producer. |
